The Boys Are Back in Town

Now that Kojak has moved to NYC, we decided that it's even more important to keep up the exchange of useless information. Not only will we publish as much mundane content as possible, but you may even be fortunate enough to catch a glimps of our personal lives...

In fact, here is a painting by one of Kojak's distant relative: Edvard Munch

I would have uploaded a photo of The Scream, but I couldn't get a shot of it. Not only does the Oslo Munch museum not let you take pictures, the painting is supposedly in the hands of a Russian mafioso.

Not your Father's comic books...

Recently, Kojak and I have not only recognized our commonality and affinity for graphic novels, but have introduced eachother to different genres as well. Kojak has brought a blog to my attention that requires notice.

The following list is a "starter list" for someone who is not that familiar with graphic novels and comics. Since I have only read a few of the books, I will also be reading through this list as time permits.

In order to limit myself I am going to start on the fantasy section and more specifically with this one...The Sandman. I have heard the "buzz" surrounding the comic including the gratuitous plug on The O.C. by Seth Cohen.

Maybe you'll see a few reviews in the upcoming weeks...don't get your hopes up though.

Bud Light - Real American Hero

Do you remember the Bud Light - Real American Hero ads?

Of course you do, they're the commercials where a man with an extremely low and bellowy voice pronounces the celebration of the inventor of the All You Can Eat Buffet or the Giant Taco Salad Inventor.

Still can't remember? Well, I found the site with almost every commercial ever made...prepare to laugh your a$$ off.

Vagabond - The story of Musashi

After turning Kojak on to this particular comic, I thought the rest of you ought to know about it.

This comic is simply an illustrated book based on and adaptation of Yoshikawa's Musashi, a famed swordsman who lived in Japan in the 16th and 17th century. But more than that, the art is something that I can only aspire to. Using masterful ink strokes and crosshatching techniques, Takehiko Inoue makes you forget you are reading a comic book.

If you're interested, check out Ebay for some great deals or try the publisher - Viz Communications

Gotta give Kojak credit for this one...

I am so misinformed...I am so not cool (was I ever?)

Well, for the past year I have been searching for a song that was a mixture of Nine Inch Nails and 50 Cent. Weird...I know. See at least I knew it existed...who's cool now? Anyway, Kojak being the friendly neighborhood music junkie found some places for me to download these crazy song mixes called mashups.
