Round 2
As promised, Koa and I actually tested the Strawberry Stoli against the power of the Brita water filter. Although the vodka became slightly watered down, it did produce remarkable results by removing almost all of the strawberry flavor.
Looks like I will only be buying Wolfschmidt Vodka ($10 for 1.75L) from now on, which is made in Tustin, CA by the way.

neat experiment. What evidence do you have that the vodka became more watered down?
I have a suggestion for a follow up experiment (Round 3?). In theory, Brita will bind to organics (like strawberry flavor) and her ability to do so will be a function of the alcohol concentration. Hence, you should be able to remove organics from one booze type and then use a more concentrated booze type to strip these organics into it. Think Cat in the Hat and the ring around the tub.
I suggest something puss like one of those flavored watermelon drink. Pass this thru Brita a few times. Then, take something with a bit more punch (151, nail polish remover, paint thinner, etc.) and pass this thru the filter. The test is whether or not the new stuff becomes flavored like the old stuff.
